William Theodore Erving, Jr.

Batesburg, SC: William Theodore Erving, Jr., 71, formerly of Batesburg, South Carolina. the widower of Ella Ruth Davis Erving entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Bennettsville Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Born on February 17, 1955, in Ridge Spring, SC, he was the son of the late William Theodore Erving and Clara Bell West Erving. William was educated in the public schools of Ridge Spring and worked faithfully as a Machine Operator for construction. He was a member of Popular Branch Baptist Church.

He was married to Ella Ruth Davis-Erving and was the father of two children.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife Ella Ruth Davis- Erving, a brother Steve Erving and a grandson, Xavion Carter.

He leaves to cherish his memory; son, Michael J. Erving (Tammy) Bolivia, NC; daughter, Felicia S. Erving of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Yigeria Erving and Zariya Gibson both of Columbia, SC; in-laws, Carrie Kinard, Georgia Carroll, Mae E. Gilliam, Shirley (Andrew) Brown and Arleen Davis; a host of other relatives and friends.

No service is plan at this time.

The family respectfully requests continued prayers as they trust God for comfort and strength during this time of bereavement.
